This is beautiful set of prayer mala that I have purchased from Element Zen. Each bead is a natural Lava stones that has very natural texture like rocks have. These mala is used for meditation or during prayers and not meant for any sort of fashion. Each bead is equally spaced and knotted in between so even if this mala breaks apart by accident, you won’t lose the entire set of beads and this mala would be still good to use. I have seen monks using this kind of mala’s in south Asia where they hum certain prayers closing their eyes, starting right from where the tassel begins and end their prayer till the end of the mala I.e. up to the tassel. This japa mala in total contain 108 earthy beads and 4 metal beads. This entire mala is very heavy weighted and is very well made with high ends..
